The Philippine leg of the Gunpla Builders World Cup 2011 recently held in Robinsons Place Manila.

1/100 MG Gundam Deathscythe Hell Part 3

The final installment of my progress with my GBWC 2011 entry.

1/100 MG Gundam Deathscythe Hell Part 1

As promised, I started working on the kit right after my previous post. And after a few hours of the night, I managed to finish the inner frame and sanded the chest unit and both shoulders. I'm going to continue later in the evening because I need to do some personal errands today. ^_^

Peer Pressure...

Ever since hearing of the news that the bootleg version of Gundam Deathscythe Hell going out in the market, I've been feeling the pressure of finishing my own kits as early as possible. Please wait for WIP Part 1.

Kit was bought last March 2011.

This is not making me happy...

I am posting this because a few minutes ago, I came across this link and found out that my favorite Master Grade Mobile Suit now has a bootleg version (not that I hate bootlegs), and it is going to be released around mid September of 2011.

...and to think I haven't even started building my own original version of this.
I guess I should work on this backlog A.S.A.P.

1/60 Big Scale Zeta Gundam Part 3

Moving on with Big Scale Zeta Gundam, I tried to avoid more stupidity while building. =P

More Tamiya Cement to close the parts.

Size comparison for the accessories.

The huge backpack of the Zeta Gundam. Again, more cement on this one.

Chest and Waist unit in one piece.

Thrusters in the back skirt.

The huge leg unit is as tall as my 2 thinner bottles combined.

Snap fitted before going to the sanding tub.

THE SANDING TUB: the most grueling process XD

1/60 Big Scale Zeta Gundam Part 2

After my mom got out of the hospital, I continued working on this vintage kit (yes, it is older than me because the box says it was made back in 1985).

Stupid me, I cemented the part of the grenade pods backwards.
I cut a portion of an old sprue from another kit and sanded it to form the pods.

I already cemented the sanded plastic I have to form the grenade pods.

Continuing to build the other arm.

1/60 Big Scale Zeta Gundam Part 1

Since Blogger screwed my WIP page, I decided to repost my compilation of Work In Progress photos and I will start of with my 1/60 Big Scale Zeta Gundam.

I found this vintage kit back in June 2011 in the Annual Philippine Toy Convention and got it for only Php 1,650 (around 39 USD). I started working on this kit a month after because I just pile up the kits I bought while I haven't got the time to build them. That time, my mom was admitted in the hospital and I needed something to kill some time in the hospital. I brought along the biggest box I could find in my pile of backlogs and found  this one. =)

And now...

The box of Zeta Gundam and the tools I brought along.

Unboxing

This kit is so old, I did not expect I'd use a lot of Tamiya Cement just to close the parts together.

Yes, this is the whole arm of a 1/60 scale Zeta Gundam (talk about HUGE!)

Advance Birthday Gift... for Myself!

Okay, I know this sounds stupid but I bought an advance birthday gift for myself. Yes, I even had it wrapped and told myself while pointing to my present, "I will only unwrap you on my birthday!"

I know what's inside! hehe! XD

Show me your Gunpla workstation

My Facebook Gunpla group was mysteriously deleted last weekend. Old post, pictures, videos and documents were gone along with the group page. Good thing the gang already set up a new home for the wandering members.

And with our new home, Gunpla Meisters, I'd like to relive an old trend from the group...

SHOW ME YOUR GUNPLA WORKSTATION!

Currently working an SD kit while chowing down on grilled chicken intestines. >:)

Box #2

I GOT A PARCEL TODAY!!!

I order these baby a couple of weeks back. It was just shipped last August 1, 2011 so I was surprised that I got it within the 7-day promise by the online store. I ordered 3 Brave Battle Warriors Sonshoko Gerbera and 3 of Shin Sonshoko Gerbera.

Asking why I ordered 3 of each? NO, I'm not hoarding them. I ordered a couple of extras for my friends. They'll be glad to get these from me. =)

Gunpla with my Nephew

I thought it was a lazy Sunday until my 3 year old nephew showed up and messed around in my room. He saw the pile of Gunpla boxes that I haven't touched so he asked me if he can have one. I said yes and the conversation led to me and my nephew building a Gunpla kit for him to take home. =)

OPERATION: Mini Group Build!
What: Super Deformed Perfect Gundam (PF-78-1)
Where: My Room
When: 08-07-2011 (1800H)

Please don't mind my unfolded clothes on the background. LOL

BZ-Bee at the Mall...

I was strolling in the mall with my girl and grabbed a couple cans of spray paint for the kit my girl gave me. I also got a sheet of water-slide decals for it. While walking, something caught my eye, it was a portable racing wheel + driver's seat for PS3 systems. I was so amazed by how it looked, and the plus for being a portable PS3 peripheral. Too bad I forgot to take a picture of it. :(

But what really got me in that particular store is a copy of Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 for PS3. I asked for its price and the staff there responded with what seemed to be angels singing in my ears... "Php900, sir."

OWMYGAWD! That cheap?! I quickly took my wallet and paid for it. >:)

Backlogs

'nuff said...

Refillable mornings

Had breakfast with my best friend at the nearest McDonald's after office. (Yes, we are on the nocturnal people shift that is why we have breakfast after office, LOLz). I owe her one free breakfast, so I decided to bring her there (Since the meal there is pocket-friendly than the popular coffee shop I know). Anyway, we ordered the usual breakfast sandwiches and a cup of coffee, and little did we know that they offer a bigger cup of coffee. And what surprised us is that if you upgrade to a larger cup, you can get it refilled... FOR FREE!

. . . . . . Now I can't sleep because of coffee overdose... (O_O)

Captain America at Newport City

Captain America premiered in the movie houses around the metro last week and I haven't even seen it yet. Finally, me and my girl got a chance to watch the superhero yesterday, and in 3D at the Newport City Cinema! It was a definitely a blast to watch Captain America in action.

We also finished the credits to have a sneak peek at the upcoming movie of The Avengers. Psyched me up BIG TIME!

Gundam Model Kit Contest 2011 & Gundam Caravan for the friggn' Nth time

It's the awarding ceremony of the much awaited Gundam Model Kit Contest 2011. A few of the group's members got the chance to participate in the contest so we were all anxious to know who will win the grand prize. There were a lot of great and notable entries. Unfortunately, we only got 6th Place in the Open Category, courtesy of our friend, Ed. But, we also have another great entry from our friend, Doy our Airbrush master.

On the other hand, while waiting for the judges decision, let's head to another highlight of the story, folks...

...here we go again for another episode of the "BZ-Bee: Take that FREE SD Gundam Kit" series!

Yes, you read the post title right. This is the Nth time I participated for the Gundam Caravan. This is a great opportunity to grab a free Super Deformed Gundam Astray Red Frame kit, courtesy of our great local Bandai supplier, Bankee Trading inc. and also to have the chance to practice and show off your Out of the Box detailing prowess with a 2-hour time limit. Luckily, I, again, nabbed 1st prize on the Caravan. >:)
